A Note About Vickie Jourdan

Vickie Jourdan grew up just outside of New York City. The daughter of a Madison Avenue ad exec, her early years steered her in artistic directions. Following studies at the Parsons School of Design in New York, she embarked on a career in interior design.

Following a stint at B. Altman & Co., she moved to San Francisco. Her career was put on hold by marriage and child-rearing. She and her family moved back east to Virginia, where she resumed her successful career in interior design.

In the late 1990s she and her husband moved south to Hilton Head Island, and Vickie turned her attention to even more creative pursuits, taking instruction in a number of media from a number of well-known instructors.

In recent years her work has gravitated toward the abstract. Working mainly in watercolor and collage, she is producing pieces of ever-increasing complexity and depth, and is demonstrating a wonderful adeptness in her chosen direction.

Vickie is a member of  The National Collage Society, The International Society of Experimental Artists, and the South Carolina Watercolor Society as well as several local art associations. She has been juried into many shows and won several awards. Her work hangs in many private collections.
