Gallery News for Spring/Summer 2008

Welcome back spring!.....the big news this spring is the opening of our year-round second location in downtown Bryson city, NC.

We opened the doors to the Artists House TOO on March 17th with an official ribbon cutting on March 21st .

This new location is housed in part of the old Bennetts Drugs an historic building of 1915 vintage. Our gallery features a 20 foot long marble soda counter and stools as well as a lighted marble and stained glass bar-back from France. Very cool and we enjoy talking to folks who tell us they remember their first date there or working at the soda fountain, etc.

I have partnered up with my cousin Carla in this new adventure as she has the time to be there during the week. We are currently open Tues. thru Sat. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or later on Friday and Saturday evenings.  The original gallery in the house will open in June of this year and be open Thurs. thru Sats. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you are heading to the mountains to cool off, do some hiking, or just get away from it all please stop in and visit the new location.

In addition to original art we offer handmade furnishings, pottery, turned wood, antique Persian rugs, jewelry, hand-woven wearables, and an extensive collection of all natural handmade bath and body products, and candles.
 
Our first show of the year will be opening July 11th with a wine and cheese reception for the artists.

Laura Adams  of Savannah, GA And Cashiers, NC will be showing her new collaged  works “bee balm to bears, the conservation of a high mountain farm’

Joe Zarra from New Jersey will be showing new organic works  done on wood that has been cut apart and reassembled to form an overall abstract and pleasing pattern similar to a quilt of painted cubes.
